Bendigo council announced this morning that anyone diagnosed with Covid-19 will be quarantined on that island at Lake Tom Thumb in Eaglehawk.
"Patients will need to canoe themselves to the island and spend 14 days in the medical quarantine tent," a Bendigo Council spokesperson said.
"We selected that island on Lake Tom Thumb as its completely void of any human activity. And just like a normal island, there are no coconuts. I don't mind them myself. Man, I would really kill for a Bounty right now."
The tent will have all the comforts of home including a couch, bed and electricity. For the homesick, mannequins faces will feature selfies of their family members.
