The Bendigo Caravan & Camping Leisurefest has introduced a compulsory fitness test for anyone looking to buy a caravan, camper or motor home.
Under the new policy, buyers must demonstrate they can crank out an awning without asking their partner for help or resorting to cursing.
“You can’t be moving a 3-ton van if you’ve got the muscular strength of a sudoku player,” vendor Tim Boone told The Bendigo Standard. “Those who fail will have to sit in the time-out chair and think about their life.”
Organisers said next year’s test will expand to include reversing a caravan while a partner shouts vague instructions.
