Tradie's Hilux Yet To See A Building Site

Tradie's Hilux Yet To See A Building Site
This Hilux is beginning to suspect it's owner might not actually be a tradie

After two years of careful ownership, a gleaming white Toyota Hilux SR5 has never worked a single day - it hasn't even seen a construction site.

Dylan Marchetti has logged approximately 23,000 kilometres driving between the gym and a Westfield carpark, where it takes up two spaces.

"She's a bloody workhorse," said Marchetti, gesturing toward the factory-fresh tray that has never transported anything heavier than a carton of Great Northerns and an IKEA flat pack.

The vehicle has $14,000 in aftermarket accessories, including a snorkel that has never seen water and a bull bar whose only victim is a Coles trolley. It remains in showroom condition.

Although it is a 4WD, the Hilux has never left 2H mode. Marchetti assures mates he could if he wanted. The dual-cab's back seats have only held a gym bag and a hi-vis vest, worn only to Bunnings for the tradie discount.

"Can't be getting her dirty, she's an investment," Marchetti told The Bendigo Standard, adjusting his Blundstones that have never touched concrete.

"I don't know which has more wax, him or the car," his neighbour said.
