Man Credits Botanical Walk He Didn't Enjoy As 'Really Good For Him'

A local man has described his morning walk through the Botanical Gardens as "really good for him," despite hating every moment of it.

Marcus Trent, 38, completed the 15-minute loop while complaining to his partner about the heat, the birds and his legs hurting.

Witnesses overheard Trent asking his partner, "How much further?" on four separate occasions and requesting a break due to "lack of oxygen" while on a slight incline.

"I'm basically training for Everest," Trent said, sweat pooling in his activewear in places activewear was never designed to pool. "I feel great. I should do this more often."

His partner, Emmah Leigh, offered a different account.

"He said this is what he really needs," Leigh said. "Then he took a couple of selfies with some ducks and asked if we could grab a coffee at Maccas, then fell asleep in the car on the way home."

At press time, Trent said he was "really getting into fitness" after purchasing a two-year gym membership he has not yet used.
