Premier Jacinta Allan today held a press conference to outline her vision for holding more press conferences.
"We are committed to holding more regular and meaningful press conferences about the importance of press conferences," Premier Allan told reporters.
"We're at a turning point in this state," Allan declared, while standing in front of a banner reading 'Delivering Press Conferences That Deliver'. "Victorians want certainty. They want clarity. And they want to know exactly when I'll be standing in front of a microphone, avoiding real questions."
But that hasn't phased Premier Allan. A new Minister for Announcements, whose job is to nod solemnly in the background, is to be announced this coming week.
Opposition leader Brad Battin responded by saying, "This is an outrageous misuse of taxpayer time and resources. I will be holding a press conference tomorrow to say it's an outrageous misuse of taxpayer time and resources."
The press conference ended abruptly after a reporter asked the Premier if this was just a way to avoid answering actual questions.
