Victorian Premier Dan Andrews announced today that the ring of steel encasing Melbourne is actually a giant egg ring.
"Victorians love their eggs in the morning," he said.
Mr Andrews believes the egg ring will be lifted sometime in November.
"We need to cook those eggs," he said. "If we lift the ring too early it's going to be all runny and we don't want runny eggs. Some people do but we don't."
"We also don't want bad eggs ruining all the good eggs or we will have to scrape it into the bin and find something else for breakfast because we forgot to buy milk," Mr Andrews said. "Once our health professionals find out who came first, the chicken or the egg, we will be able to return to COVID Normal."
